Bookish gift list.

It’s that time of year when we’re all scrambling to find great gifts for our loved ones. I was recently inspired by Brown Books & Green Tea and Reader Rayna‘s posts on the topic of gifts for book-lovers and bookish gifts, so I decided to come up with a list of my own. These are simply items that caught my eye and I think could make great gifts for that literary fiend in your life (or for yourself!).

Candles are perfect for the holidays, and these literary candles take that perfection to another level. These are soy candles from an Etsy shop called Frostbeard Studio. I’ve purchased candles from this shop in the past and loved them. Just to give you an idea of the kinds of candles they have, the Christmas in the Great Hall description states that the scents include: mistletoe, gingerbread, cinnamon, and peppermint. The Bookstore candle includes: driftwood, mahogony, coffee, and a hint of leather. They also have wax tarts if you prefer to use an electric tart or tealight warmer. Other scents in the shop include Gatsby’s Mansion, Trashy Romance Novel, and Oxford Library.

Book-lovers tend to be tea and/or coffee drinkers, so why not get them a unique mug? The first one is a cheeky mug from Society6. I love this mug and believe they have the same design on a clock. The second one is from Urban Outfitters and reflects the wanderlust in most of us who like to read books to travel to different worlds. Last but not least, the third mug is from Lenny Mud on Etsy. It even has “Praise for Tea & Books” quotes and blurbs listed on the other side of the mug.

A book fiend can never have too many bookmarks! Especially if they have multiple books going at once. Help a friend or loved one out by giving them a cute bookmark to reach for instead of any old receipt or scrap of paper lying around. These great bookmarks are from Craftedvan on Etsy. They have all sorts of bookmarks inspired by different animals, seasons, and food and drinks.

How awesome are these teas from Literary Tea Co. on Etsy?! The shop has a selection of 24 tea blends inspired by different authors. Pictured above are Lousia May Alcott (Organic Earl Grey, Strawberries, & Apple), Ernest Hemingway (Organic Gunpowder Green tea, Lemon Peel, & Rose), and Sylvia Plath (Organic Black Tea, Crushed Hibiscus, & Lavendar). I’m going to have to try some of these out myself.

What better gift for a book-lover than some cool totes to hold their many books? Book Riot has a great collection of literary totes. Apart from the examples above, they also have Goodnight MoonMoby DickAlice in Wonderland, and Nancy Drew totes.

Posters and postcards are a great way to showcase ones love of reading. The first is a poster from the DFTBA store. This poster is perfect for a book-lover who happens to be a Nerdfighter as well. The second print is from an Etsy shop called The Love Shop. Lastly, the postcards are from Megan Lee Studio on Etsy. The store also has a lovely assortment of bookish prints and prints with quotes.

I’m ending the post with bookends! These bookends are from Knob Creek Metal Arts on Etsy. Definitely check them out if only to peruse the creativity of the shop owners. They have some pretty funny bookends and some that are customizable.

I hope this list helps you pick a gift for the bookworm in your life. Or, I hope you had fun adding a few things to your wishlist. What’s your favorite item on the list? Let me know in the comments below!

Book Riot Quarterly Box #8

I received this beauty today and I’m so excited about all the bookish goodies that came in the box. For those of you who don’t know, Book Riot has a great subscription service with Quarterly Co. The subscription is a box sent every 3 months and each box is $55. Each package has a theme and the books and other items are chosen based on that theme. They also have a YA subscription for those of you who prefer receiving great YA goodies. I’ve been subscribed to the Book Riot Quarterly box for about a year now, and I have not been disappointed. I definitely recommend y’all check it out and try it for a month if you can. The next box should be coming out in December, so you can add it to your Christmas wish list!
